Drape Wall exhibit display model

The Drape Wall display model was built for an exhibit at the Weisman Art Museum.  This prototype wall section comes from Marc Swackhamer and Blair Satterfield of slv design and evolved from work they submitted to the 2003 HOME House Project competition.

We collaborated with them on the design of the aluminum frame and produced molds for and vacuum formed the 2 different types of block elements used.

The wall is assembled quickly and inexpensively by stacking high-strength, low-weight exterior bricks, which are held in place by interlocking interior bricks. A quilt-like fabric on the interior surface of the wall makes use of  innovative materials and design to create an interactive weather seal.
